Translating for the Future. What, how, why do we translate - Carmen Ardelean

A well-known researcher and translator, Carmen Ardelean offers now the sequel to her previously published study on Translation Studies. Acquiescing to the perception of translators as cultural mediators, the author becomes more specific when she dwells upon the importance of teams of people with multiple specialisations working in the field of localization. It is of no minor importance to mention that Professor Ardelean teaches at the university level a course of localization, among others. In this way, the concept of interdisciplinarity is reinforced with the help of matter-of-fact, highly-trained experience.
The book indulges in historical and theoretical developments of translation. There is no surprise that the revision and the debate start with the archetypal situation: the translation of the Bible. It goes without saying that I am not going to spoil the pleasure of reading by summarizing its demonstrations here.
